What is Blood Flow Restriction Training?
Blood Flow Restriction, or BFR, is the use of a partial tourniquet to create a cycle of metabolic effects that work through your bloodstream to:
- Increase growth hormone
- Increase insulin like growth factor
- inhibit myostatin

EFFECTS
Under light load (20-30% or your 1 rep max) we can:
- increase strength and muscle hypertrophy
- expedite tissue healing
- improve VO2 (under the right application)
- increased capillary density
Maximizing your results
Who should use BFR?
Osteoarthritis
Post Surgical Recovery
Training for Performance
Neuromuscular Re-education
Because it utilizes very light loads, BFR is ideal for increasing strength round joints that are painful to strengthen under traditional lifting protocols
Using BFR, it is possible to slow muscle loss and begin building strength very early in the post-op phase while protecting the repaired tissue, BFR is ideal for optimizing outcomes after surgery
In conjunction with a periodized training program, BFR can be used to add volume, enhance recovery, and improve VO2 max
Because BFR recruits both slow and fast twitch muscle, it assists with recruiting a greater percentage of the target musculature vs. traditional strength training
